The four-machine series of Tongtai TMT-2000 high-precision CNC turning centers features 75˚ mono-block slant bed design to maximize rigidity, chip flow and ergonomics. To maximize rigidity and precision, the machines are cast from Meehanite iron.
The 20 hp, 4,500 rpm main spindle and 25 hp, 6,000 rpm subspindle are served by 12-tool turrets. Main and subspindle chucks are 8″ (203 mm) in diameter, with 2.5″ (63 mm) and 2″ (50 mm) bar capacity respectively. Swing over the machine bed is 26.7″ (678 mm) and subspindle travel is 28.3″ (718 mm). Both spindles feature an optional full contouring C-axis.
An optional true linear (perpendicular) Y-axis simplifies programming while synchronized spindles provide superior acceleration and deceleration times. Two servo driven turrets provide high speed indexing. An optional live turret with the rigid BMT-65 tool system is available with Y-axis on the upper turret.
Both spindles are built using precision double row roller bearings in conjunction with angular contact ball bearings for high rigidity and accuracy. The spindle quill inner and outer linings are precision ground for fit with the spindle, thus ensuring extreme concentricity and accuracy.
Standard equipment includes a comprehensive coolant system, two 8″ (203 mm) hydraulic chucks, a selection of BMT-65 turret static tooling, and a Fanuc OiT-D CNC with 10.4″ (264 mm) color LCD display. The machines can be custom-tailored to fit specific production requirements via a large variety of options including a barfeed interface, part probes, removable arm tool presetter, and high-pressure coolant capability.
