The You Ji HMC series of horizontal boring and machining centers is comprised of sixteen machines covering a wide selection of sizes and capabilities. Travels of X-Y-Z axes start at 51″ x 40″ x 47″ (1,295 mm x 1,016 mm x 1,194 mm) and on the largest machine are 134″ x 71″ x 79″ (3,404 mm x 1,803 mm x 2,006mm). Pallet sizes begin at 20″ x 20″ (508 mm x 508 mm) and the largest are 102″ x 87″ (2,590 mm x 2,209 mm). W-axis travels run from 23.6″ (600 mm) to 27.5″ (698 mm) on machines that offer that feature.
You Ji HMC machines feature a moving saddle design with a box-in-box concept that confines spindle movement inside the box-shaped column casting. Minimizing moving mass allows faster acceleration and faster rapid rates. The machine design also promotes even heat distribution that minimizes thermal distortion.
Rugged linear slideways in the X and Y axes and a rigid square ram in Z permit high rapid traverse speeds and provide heavy duty cutting capability. Rapid traverse rates are 1,181 ipm (30 m/min) in smaller machines and 787 ipm (20 m/min) on the largest units. Large pre-tensioned ballscrews virtually eliminate any thermal expansion. The spindles on the smaller machines provide 25 hp at 8,000 rpm, and power increases to 50 hp at 3,500 rpm for the largest machines. Spindle drive is direct on the smaller machines and through a two-speed gearbox on the larger machines. All machines employ 50 taper tooling and box/linear guide ways.
An arm-type, 40-tool-capacity automatic tool changer is standard, with up to 120 tool changers optional.
Standard equipment includes 1,000 PSI through-spindle coolant, a full rotary table B-axis, chip conveyor, and linear scales on the X, Y, Z and W axes. Among available options are 5 th axis rotary tables, part and tool probing systems and right angle milling heads.
